LONDON: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said the country is facing challenges and urged unity to steer country out of crisis.This he said talking to media men after he arrived here on Saturday. Minister said, “We have blocked the activities of Taliban and insurgents were never near Islamabad.”“Taliban are mere handful in number and they are not the critical threat to Pakistan”, he made it clear.When asked regarding recent Karachi violence which left over 30 people dead and scores injured, Malik replied, “Some parts in Karachi have fallen into the wrongful hands of land mafia and the government will busted them soon.”He lauded MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s efforts to establish peace in Karachi and hinted at presence of a third force in Karachi, which he accused of disrupting peace in metropolis.“We will keep close eye on land mafia, country is advancing towards betterment as we have taken all coalition partners on board in our decisions and PPP, MQM and ANP are working jointly for the progress of our homeland”, Malik remarked and added, “Instability in FATA is a conspiracy to destabilize entire country”.He vowed to deal those with iron hands who have challenged the writ of the government.
