Bollywood's top stars gathered in the coastal gambling enclave Macau on Thursday for the Indian film industry's annual roadshow, aiming to pitch their elaborate song-and-dance productions to the booming Chinese market and other Asian countries.
The Indian International Film Awards seems to be suffering this time due to an acute shortage of film stars planning to perform or be even present at the show.
Till now the event used to be a big celebration of Bollywood abroad.
The event is to be happening this year from 11th to 13th June in Macau.
Last time one of the highlights of IIFA was Akshay Kumar’s performance but this time the Khiladi would not even be attending the programme, leave alone performing on the stage.
It is also known that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will also not be present at the event. Even Kareena Kapoor has backed out as he will be supporting Saif Ali Khan in promotion of his film ‘Love Aaj Kal’ in London.
Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra also had plans to promote their upcoming film Kaminey but that plan too has failed. While Proyanka would be attending the awards, Shahid will not even be present.
Even Hrithik Roshan will be a part of the audiences this time.
The ambassador of IIFA, Amitabh Bachchan though, will be present with complete family. Among the stars to hit the stage and shake their leg are Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Bipasha Basu and Jacky Bhagnani.
