Gasquet among Eastbourne entrants

Richard Gasquet is currently ranked 23rd in the world
Ana Ivanovic and Richard Gasquet will play at the Aegon International in June as the Eastbourne event hosts men's and women's tennis for the first time.

The tournament, which was previously a WTA event only, takes place from 13-20 June at Eastbourne's Devonshire Park.

"It looks like the perfect place to prepare for Wimbledon," said French Open champion Ivanovic.

Gasquet, ranked 23 in the world, added: "I am convinced that this is the best tournament to play before Wimbledon."

Ivanovic, currently ranked number seven in the world, is looking forward to making her Eastbourne debut.

"I've been there once before a few years ago but had to pull out because of injury, and I could see that it's a very peaceful, relaxed setting," she said.

"It looks like the perfect place to prepare for Wimbledon, but it's also a chance to win a prestigious title - I know that the tournament has great history.

"I've always thought that British tennis fans are among the best in the world, and I enjoy playing in front of them."

Gasquet, who will also play at Queen's Club in the build-up to Wimbledon, added: "Tennis on grass has always been special to me and I am convinced that this is the best tournament to play before Wimbledon."

In Birmingham , British number one Anne Keothavong will line up alongside world number 37 Maria Kirilenko of Russia and India's Sania Mirza for the Aegon Classic from 8-14 June.
