Pakistan court stall moving 2011 Cup hub

The PCB now wants the Asian countries to ask ICC to allow Pakistan to stage their matches at an alternative venue.
Dubai: A Pakistan court has issued a stay order on Internatonal Cricket Council (ICC) till June 2 on the relocation of the 2011 World Cup secretariat from Lahore to India.
On April 28, the World Cup Organising committee met in Mumbai and shifted the secretariat to India and appointed Ratnakar Shetty as the event's managing director.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PB) legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi said in Lahore that a court in Lahore has issued a stay order after the PCB filed a claim.
The PCB is now pulling out all stops to ensure that they remain as co-hosts of the 2011 World Cup. In a fresh salvo on the ICC, the PCB has stated that the decision of the last ICC Executive Board's meeting in Dubai to strip Pakistan of its rights to stage the World Cup matches in Pakistan was not made 'unanimously' as claimed by the governing body.
The Board revealed that Ijaz Butt, the chairman of the PCB, had cast a vote against the proposal to remove Pakistan as hosts.
Meanwhile, Butt has embarked on a tour of Sri Lanka and to India in order to garner support to stage matches of the World Cup. After a meeting with the Sri Lankan board officials, Butt has put forward the option of either allowing Pakistan to present with alternative solutions to stage their World Cup matches or swap this edition of the event with Australia and New Zealand who are to host it in 2015.
The PCB now wants the Asian countries to ask ICC to allow Pakistan to stage their matches at an alternative venue.
This may result in Pakistan, who had recently staged its home series against Australia in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, suggesting them as the alternative venues.
However, ICC has stated that Pakistan has not so far requested them to allow them to stage their World Cup matches in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
The PCB has also alleged that a section of the media is trying to create a wrong impression on ICC's decision.
The PCB also said that the matter of moving the World Cup out of Pakistan was not in the agenda of the executive board:
"The item of agenda under which this decision was made out of the blue related to assessment of general security situation for international cricket.
"This is why it is the PCB's stand that the said decision was taken unlawfully, without proper notice and without affording PCB a fair and reasonable opportunity of representation."
